multicast mvr

Enables Multicast VLAN Registration (MVR) on a VLAN.
Syntax
multicast mvr { source | receiver }
no multicast mvr { source | receiver }
Command Default

MVR is not enabled by default.

Parameters
source
Configures the VLAN as a source VLAN.
receiver
Configures the VLAN as a receiver VLAN.

Usage Guidelines

When you use this command, a VE interface is created if not already configured.

On ICX 8100 devices, IGMPv3 join messages received on MVR receiver VLANs are processed only if IGMPv3 is enabled globally using the ip igmp version 3 command.

The no form of the command does not delete the VE interface. The VE interface is only deleted when you delete the VLAN or delete the VE interface manually. The no form of the command disables MVR on a VLAN.

Examples

The following example configures MVR on a VLAN and configures the VLAN as a source VLAN. 

device# configure terminal
device(config)# vlan 1
device(config-vlan-1)# multicast mvr source
