`monitor profile (ERSPAN traffic type)`

Configures the type of monitored traffic associated with a specific Encapsulated Remote Switched Port Analyzer (ERSPAN) profile on a monitoring port.

Syntax

monitor profile profile-number { both | input | output }

no monitor profile

profile-number { both | input | output }

Command Default

Ports are not monitored.

Usage Guidelines

You must configure an ERSPAN profile before you can enable ERSPAN monitoring.

Ensure you have already configured an ERSPAN profile before executing this command. Refer to the monitor-profile command for more information.

ERSPAN does not support VLAN monitoring.

ERSPAN is not supported for RUCKUS ICX 7150, ICX 7150-ES, and ICX 8100 devices.

The no form of the command disables ERSPAN monitoring on the port.

Examples

The following example configures a mirror port for ERSPAN. Both incoming and outgoing packets are monitored.

device# configure terminal 
device(config)# interface ethernet 1/2/3
device(config-if-e1000-1/2/3)# monitor profile 1 both
