bootfile-url

Specifies the URL of the bootfile that the DHCPv6 client downloads during the boot process.
Syntax
bootfile-url { https | tftp }:// [ server-ipv6-address ] /file-name
no bootfile-url { https | tftp }:// [ server-ipv6-address ] /file-name
Command Default

No URL is specified.

Parameters
https://server-ipv6-address/file-name
Specifies the HTTPS protocol.
tftp://server-ipv6-address/file-name
Specifies a Trivial File Transfer Protocol (TFTP) server.

DHCPv6 server configuration mode

DHCPv6 subnet configuration mode

Usage Guidelines

The no form of the command removes the URL of the bootfile that the DHCPv6 client downloads during the boot process.

Examples

The following example specifies the URL via TFTP of the bootfile used by the DHCPv6 client during the boot process for all DHCPv6 address pools.

device# configure terminal
device(config)# ipv6 dhcp6-server enable
device(config-dhcp6)# bootfile-url tftp://2001:db8::46/sample_day0_script.py

The following example specifies the URL via TFTP of the bootfile used by the DHCPv6 client during the boot process for a specified subnet within the DHCPv6 server.

device# configure terminal
device(config)# ipv6 dhcp6-server enable
device(config-dhcp6)# subnet6 2021::/64
device(config-dhcp6-subnet)# bootfile-url tftp://2001:db8::46/sample_day0_script.py

The following example specifies the URL via HTTPS of the bootfile used by the DHCPv6 client during the boot process for all DHCPv6 address pools.

device# configure terminal
device(config)# ipv6 dhcp6-server enable
device(config-dhcp6)# bootfile-url https://2001:db8::46/sample_day0_script.py

The following example specifies the URL via HTTPS of the bootfile used by the DHCPv6 client during the boot process for a specified subnet within the DHCPv6 server.

device(config)# ipv6 dhcp6-server enable
