Fanless mode is disabled.
Global configuration mode
ICX 8200-24, ICX 8200-24P, ICX 8200-48, ICX 8200-48P, ICX 8200-48PF, ICX 8100-24P, ICX 8100-48P, ICX 8100-24P-X, ICX 8100-48P-X, ICX 7150-24P, and ICX 7150-48P devices support fanless mode.
Fanless mode cannot be enabled when:
- PoE Dynamic power management is enabled (inline power allocation dynamic).
- PoE power allocation is more than 150W.
- 25G SFPs are inserted in the switch for ICX 8200 devices.
When fanless mode is enabled on an ICX 8200 device, inserting a 25G SFP disables the port. If a 25G SFP is already inserted in a port, the optic must be removed before fanless mode can be enabled.
When fanless mode is enabled on an ICX 8200 device with both 1G and 10G SFPs installed, the shutdown temperature for the 10G SFP ports is used.
When fanless mode is enabled, the fan speed is set to zero RPM.
Even if fanless mode is configured on a switch, fans will be turned on temporarily during boot up or reboot and will be turned off after the boot up.
The
no form of the command resets the fan speed to auto and reinstates the PoE budget to
the default value.
The following example enables fanless mode on a standalone device or unit 1 of the stack.

The following example checks PoE power allocation and attempts to configure fanless mode for all fans in an ICX 8200-24P router. A warning message indicates that the power must be adjusted because the unit has more than 150W of PoE power allocated.

The following example turns off inline power on a range of ports to adjust power consumption to the required level. It checks power status, enables fanless mode on all fans in one unit, and checks chassis status.

The following example checks media status and attempts to enable fanless mode. A system message indicates the presence of 25G optics, which are incompatible with fanless mode. The user disables the offending ports before successfully enabling fanless mode.
