map vlan (VXLAN)

Maps VLAN to a VXLAN Network Identifier (VNI) for a VXLAN overlay-gateway.
Syntax
map vlan vlan-id to VNI vni-id [ cross-connect ]
no map vlan vlan-id to VNI vni-id [ cross-connect ]
Command Default

A VLAN is not mapped to a VNI.

Parameters
vlan-id
Specifies the VLAN to map to the VNI.
vni-id
Specifies the VXLAN Network Identifier (or VXLAN segment ID) to be mapped to the VLAN.
cross-connect
Disables MAC learning on the VNI and provides point-to-point Layer 2 extensions across the LAN/WAN.

Usage Guidelines

The command is not supported for ICX 8200devices.

A maximum of 256 VLAN-to-VNI mappings can be configured.

The designated VLAN must already have been configured.

The default VLAN, VLAN 1, unless the default is reconfigured, cannot be mapped to a VNI.

A VLAN with multicast snooping enabled cannot be mapped to a VNI.

A VLAN with a router interface cannot be mapped to a VNI.

A VLAN cannot be mapped to more than one VNI.

Multiple VLANs cannot be mapped to the same VNI.

Only one-to-one mapping is allowed between the VLAN and the VNI.

You cannot change non-cross-connect VNIs to cross-connect VNIs and vice versa.

None of the ports on the VLAN mapped to the VNI can have a configured IP address.

Deleting VLAN-to-VNI mapping does not mandate the cross-connect option for cross-connect VNIs.

The no form of the command disables VLAN-to-VNI mapping.

Examples

The following example maps VLAN 2 to VNI 3. 

device# configure terminal
device(config)# overlay-gateway gate1
device(config-overlay-gate1)# type layer2-extension
device(config-overlay-gw-gate1)# map vlan 2 to vni 3

The following example maps VLAN 2 to cross-connect VNI 3. 

device# configure terminal
device(config)# overlay-gateway gate1
device(config-overlay-gw-gate1)# map vlan 2 to vni 3 cross-connect
