ip multicast static-mcache profile

Adds multicast groups to a profile whose packets are always flooded or dropped in the hardware.

Syntax

ip
                  multicast static-mcache profile

profile-id multicast-address { drop | flood }

no
                  ip multicast static-mcache profile

profile-id multicast-address { drop | flood }

Command Default

A mulitcast address is not added to a profile.

Usage Guidelines

The no form of the command removes multicast addresses from a profile.

Examples

The following example adds a multicast group to profile 10 and specifies that the traffic is dropped.

device# configure terminal
device(config)# ip multicast static-mcache profile 10 225.0.1.10 drop

The following example adds a mulitcast group to profile 10 and specifies that the traffic is flooded.

device# configure terminal
device(config)# ip multicast static-mcache profile 10 225.1.2.250 flood

The following example adds an IP address to profile 10 for a VLAN

device# configure terminal
device(config)# vlan 6
device(config-vlan6)# ip multicast static-mcache profile 10 225.0.0.2
