logging-rate-limit
Rate limiting is enabled by default at 200 syslog messages per second.
Global Configuration mode
If the number of syslog messages generated exceeds the configured rate, excess messages are dropped.
Disabling rate limiting
(logging-rate-limit 0) may result in high CPU usage and
syslog task instability, especially in scaled setups.
Beginning with FastIron release10.0.10h_cd1, a syslog rate limit of 200 messages per second is applied by default unless manually changed.
The no form of the command
resets the default value of 200 logs per second.
The following example configures the limit of syslog messages to 100 per second.
device# configure terminal device(config)# logging-rate-limit 100
The following example resets the syslog rate limit to the default value of 200 logs per second.
device# configure terminal device(config)# no logging-rate-limit
