Default number of load sharing paths is four.
Global configuration mode
For optimal results, set the maximum number of paths to a value at least as high as the maximum number of equal-cost paths your network typically contains. For example, if the Layer 3 switch you are configuring for IP load sharing has six next-hop routers, set the maximum paths value to six.
The configuration of the maximum number of IP load sharing paths to a value more than
8 is determined by the maximum number of ECMP paths defined at the system level using
the
system-max max-ecmp command. This command is supported only on the
RUCKUS ICX 7750. You cannot configure the maximum number of IP load sharing paths higher than the
value defined at the system level. Also, you cannot configure the maximum number of
ECMP paths at the system level to a value less than the configured IP load sharing
value.
The
no form of the command resets the load sharing paths to four.
