enable password-display
The display of the community string is not enabled.
Global configuration mode
This command enables the display of the SNMP community string and password in the
output of certain
show commands. The display of the SNMP community strings and password remains encrypted
in the startup configuration and running configuration files with or without this
command. However, note that when the
enable password-display command is configured, the passwords and SNMP community strings will be displayed
in clear text in the
show command output unless the
md5-fmt is used.
To prevent the community string being displayed in clear text in the output for the
show ip bgp neighbors,
show ip ospf, and
show snmp commands, use the
enable password-display command with the
md5-fmt keyword.
The
no form of the command disables the display of the community string in the output of
these
show commands.
The following example shows how to enable the display of the community string.

The following example shows how to prevent the display of the community string in
clear text format in the output of the
show ip bgp neighbors command.
