Configures a watcher profile as a derived profile, allowing boolean operations and IP Performance Metrics (IPPM) profile states.

ippm ippm-profile-name
Specifies an IPPM profile.

success
Specifies that the result is true if the IPPM profile indicates success, meaning the target is reachable.
ippm-profile-name2
Specifies a second IPPM profile.
Modes

Watcher configuration mode

Usage Guidelines

Use the AND boolean operaton when all specified IPPM profiles must meet the success or fail criteria for the watcher profile to be considered true. Use the OR boolean operation when any one of the specified IPPM profiles meeting the success or fail criteria is sufficient for the watcher profile to be considered true.

A maximum of four IPPM profiles can be mapped to a single watcher profile using a boolean AND or a boolean OR operation.

The IPPM profile should be set to success if the target being monitored should be reachable for the result to be true. The IPPM profile to fail if the target being monitored should be unreachable for the result to be true.

The no form of the command removes a configured watcher profile as a derived profile.

Examples

The following example specifies that syslog messages are logged when the IPPM profile p1 indicates success, meaning the target is reachable, and the IPPM profile p2 indicates failure, meaning the target is unreachable.

device# configure terminal
device(config)# watcher name watch2
device(config-watcher-watch2)# success and ippm p2 fail ippm p1 success
