anycast-gw-mac

Configures an anycast gateway MAC address for a Virtual Ethernet (VE) interface so that multiple devices in a Virtual Extensible Local Area Network (VXLAN) can share the same gateway MAC address.
Syntax
anycast-gw-mac mac-address
no anycast-gw-mac mac-address
Command Default

An anycast gateway MAC address is not configured for a VE interface.

Parameters
mac-address
Specifies a MAC address.
Modes

Interface subtype configuration mode

Usage Guidelines

This command is not supported for ICX 8200 devices.

This command is supported for VE interfaces only. Before configuring the anycast gateway, the VE interface must be configured with overlay VRF (using the vrf forwarding overlay-vrf command) and an IP address and subnet mask (using the ip address command).

The no form of the command removes a configured anycast gateway MAC address for the VE interface.

Examples

The following example configures two VE interfaces with the same anycast gateway MAC address in a VXLAN environment.

device# configure terminal
device(config)# interface ve 5
device(config-vif-5)# vrf forwarding overlay-vrf
device(config-vif-5)# ip address 100.1.1.1/24
device(config-vif-5)# anycast-gw-mac aabb.ccdd.eeff

device# configure terminal
device(config)# interface ve 6
device(config-vif-6)# vrf forwarding overlay-vrf
device(config-vif-6)# ip address 101.1.1.1/24
device(config-vif-6)# anycast-gw-mac aabb.ccdd.eeff
