`encapsulation vxlan`

Configures VXLAN as the encapsulation type for a Layer 2 Ethernet Virtual Private Network (EVPN) instance.

Syntax

encapsulation vxlan

no encapsulation vxlan

Command Default

The encapsulation type is not configured for a Layer 2 EVPN instance.

Modes

EVPN EVI configuration mode

Usage Guidelines

This command is supported for RUCKUS ICX 7850 and ICX 7550 devices only.

The no form of the command removes VXLAN as the encapsulation type for a Layer 2 EVPN instance.

Examples

The following example configures VXLAN as the encapsulation type for a Layer 2 EVPN instance.

device# configure terminal
device(config)# l2vpn evpn
device(config-evpn)# evpn-instance 1 vlan-based
device(config-evpn-evi)# encapsulation vxlan
