Usage Guidelines

Use this command to exclude a specific interface from dynamic port-profile assignments.

Previously, interface (port) exclusions were managed at the port-profile level using the exclude-ports command within a specific port profile configuration. The exclude port-profile interface-level command provides more granular control, allowing you to prevent a port (such as a critical uplink) from being modified by any dynamic profile, regardless of how many profiles are defined on the device.

When configured, the interface does not participate in dynamic port-profile assignments, and any currently applied dynamic port-profile policies are removed from the interface.

The no form of the command removes the exclusion, allowing the interface to participate in dynamic port-profile assignments.

Examples

The following example excludes Ethernet interface 1/1/2 from all dynamic port-profile assignments.

device# configure terminal
device(config)# interface ethernet 1/1/2
device(config-if-e1000-1/1/2)# exclude port-profile
