host-reachability protocol bgp

Configures Border Gateway Protocol (BGP) as the mechanism for host reachability advertisement for a Layer 2 Ethernet Virtual Private Network (EVPN) instance.
Syntax
host-reachability protocol bgp
no host-reachability protocol bgp
Command Default

No protocol is configured as the mechanism for host reachability.

EVPN EVI configuration mode

Usage Guidelines

This command is supported for RUCKUS ICX 7850 and ICX 7550 devices only.

The no form of the command removes BGP as the mechanism for host reachability for a Layer 2 EVPN instance.

Examples

The following example configures BGP as the mechanism for host reachability for a Layer 2 EVPN instance. 

device# configure terminal
device(config)# l2vpn evpn
device(config-evpn)# evpn-instance 1 vlan-based
device(config-evpn-evi)# host-reachability protocol bgp
