Usage Guidelines

When you configure the device location option, it is included as a vendor-specific attibute (VSA) in RADIUS request messages. The RUCKUS location attribute is VSA 5. The RUCKUS VSAs are encapsulated in standard Attribute 26.

Configuring the ICX device location is optional. When the location is configured and the ICX device operating as a RADUIS client sends a request to a properly configured RADIUS server, the location attribute can be used as a basis to accept or reject the RADIUS request or to fine-tune access.

When the device location is configured, it is displayed in the output of the show running-config command.

The no form of the command removes the location.

Examples

The following example specifies a location for the ICX device.

device# configure terminal
device(config)# host-location Lab_2nd_floor
