monitor capture delete

Deletes the packet capture (.pcap) file.
Syntax
monitor capture delete file-name
Parameters
file-name
Specifies the .pcap file name.

Usage Guidelines

To view the list of files on your device, use the show files command.

Only a single .pcap file can be deleted at a time. Files with other extensions cannot be removed.

Note: Before permanently deleting a .pcap file, consider exporting a copy of it to a server (using the copy flash scp/tftp command) for future reference.

Examples

The following example shows how to delete a .pcap file.

device# monitor capture delete packet_capture_2024_06_24_06_43_12.pcap
                Deleting packet_capture_2024_06_24_06_43_12.pcap file
                File 'packet_capture_2024_06_24_06_43_12.pcap' deleted successfully.
