monitor capture (interface)

Configures packet capture on a specific interface.
Syntax
monitor capture capture-name interface ethernetunit/slot/port
no monitor capture capture-name
Command Default

By default, the packet capture feature is disabled.

Parameters
capture-name
Specifies the capture name. The maximum character length for capture names is 32 characters.
interface ethernet unit/slot/port
Specifies the interface type and the interface number. Currently, only Ethernet is supported. For number, enter the Ethernet port number using the unit/slot/port format.

Usage Guidelines

Use the no form of the command to remove all capture details from the monitor capture.

Examples

The following example shows how to configure packet capture for Ethernet interface 1/1/1. 

device# monitor capture packet-cap interface ethernet 1/1/1
