show ip dns vrf

Displays the DNS server-addresses and domain-lists configured for a VRF.

Syntax

show ip dns [ vrf vrf-name ] {domain-list domain-name server-address ip-address [ip-address...] | cache | cache detail }

Parameters

vrfvrf-name: Displays cache details for a specific VPN Routing or Forwarding instance.
domain-list domain-name: Diaplays the list of DNS domains.
server-address ip-address: Displays cache details for a specific IP address.
cache: Displays all the cache entries.
cache detail: Diaplays the details of all cache entries.

Modes

User EXEC mode

The show ip dns vrf command displays the following information:

Output field	Description
Domain-list	The list of domain names.
Server addreess	The list of IPv4 server addresses.
Cache Count	The number of caches present.
Timeout	The time interval required for a DNS entry to be refreshed.
Start	The start time of refresh.
Curt	Current Time
FQDN	Fully Qualified Domain Name
Upload/Lookup	The number of times the cache entry has been updated.

Timer, start and curt are used for internal debigging purpose. Prakalya consulted her manager and received confirmation to ignore those fields.

Examples

The following example shows the ist of domain lists from the show ip dns vrf command.

device# show ip dns vrf vrf1 domain-list
DNS Domain-list
1. google.com
2. yahoo.com

The following example shows the list of server addresses from the show ip dns vrf command.

device# show ip dns vrf vrf1 server-address
IPV4 DNS server address
1. 8.8.8.8

The following example shows all the cache entries from the show ip dns vrf vrf1 cache command.

device# show ip dns vrf vrf1 cache
