`ipv6 router pim`

Enables IPv6 PIM Sparse mode for IPv6 Protocol Independent Multicast (PIMv6) routing globally or on a specified VRF.

Syntax

ipv6 router pim [ vrf vrf-name ]

no ipv6 router pim [ vrf vrf-name ]

Command Default

IPv6 PIM Sparse mode is not enabled.

Parameters

vrf vrf-name: Specifies a non-default virtual routing and forwarding (VRF) instance.

Usage Guidelines

The no form of the command removes the IPv6 PIM Sparse mode configuration.

Examples

The following example enables IPv6 PIM Sparse mode.

device(config)# ipv6 router pim

The following example enables IPv6 PIM Sparse mode for a non-default VRF instance.
