ip icmp burst-max

Limits the rate of ICMP pings to the CPU

Syntax

ip icmp burst-max { value }

no ip icmp burst-max { value }

Command Default

By default, ICMP pings to the CPU are not rate-limited.

Parameters

value: The maximum allowable burst rate (Kbps) for TCP SYN and ICMP packets. Valid values are 20 through 10000000 kbps.

Interface configuration mode

Usage Guidelines

This command is supported for RUCKUS ICX 8200 and ICX 8100 devices only.

The no form of the command resets the ICX device to the default.

Examples

The following example configures ICMP ping-to-CPU rate limiting at the global level.

device# configure terminal
device(config)# ip icmp burst-max 3000

The following example configures ICMP ping-to-CPU rate limiting at the interface level.

device# configure terminal
device(config)# interface ethernet 1/1/10
(config-if-e1000-1/1/10) ip icmp burst-max 2500
