Use Case 1: Converting an existing ring stack to PEs in a linear topology
Use Case 2: Converting an existing ring stack to PEs in a ring topology
- Connect the CB and the existing stack.
- An existing ring stack can be connected to bring up either a PE chain or a ring.
- On the stack active controller, erase the startup configuration and reload.
- Run the SPX interactive-setup utility.
- When prompted, select a link to be removed to form a valid topology. When converting a ring stack, you can remove either of the pre-existing stacking links. Based on your selection, a valid topology is displayed for confirmation.
- You are prompted to accept or change default PE ID assignments.
- Discovered units reload, and the former stack units join the Campus Fabric domain as PEs.
- Once the topology is active, verify the CSP operational state with the
show spx csp allcommand, and confirm that the handshake is complete. If there is a ring in the topology, verify the ring operational state using theshow spx ring allcommand.
