Topology Requirements

New units can be added to a CB (an ICX 7750 standalone or stack) or to an existing Campus Fabric domain.

PE units can be added in a linear or ring topology up to a cascade depth of six units. Refer to Supported Topologies for Zero-Touch and Unsupported Topologies for Zero-Touch.

Note: Refer to Port Extenders for the ICX 7450, ICX 7250, and ICX 7150 models that are eligible PE candidates.

For the entire group of new units or for a single new unit to be detected, follow these connection requirements:
1. CB-PE port connections can be made between base and nonbase module ports of the CB, but only to the nonbase module ports of PE units.
2. PE-PE port connections must be between nonbase module ports.

Do not connect hosts or access points to PE candidates until zero-touch or SPX interactive-setup is complete. While adding hosts, make sure that the clients are added without LAGs. Client-facing LAGs are not supported on PE ports.

Note: Zero-touch is not enabled by default. Turn on the zero-touch with the zero-touch-enable command under spx cb-configure on the CB.
