PE Candidate Requirements

  • The new unit must be a clean standalone unit without any startup configuration.

  • New units can run a router or switch image but must have the same major image version.

Note: If the CB and PE candidates are running FastIron 08.0.70 and later images, refer to Image Upgrade.

Note: A new unit has no startup-config flash during bootup and has no startup config. (The user has never performed write memory on the unit.) To create a new unit, the user must erase the startup-config and reload.
