Upgrading the RUCKUS Network Director Version
The RUCKUS Network Director software version upgrade, including database migration, can be completed from the RUCKUS Network Director Admin portal using the incremental update build package. You can upload the new build file to upgrade RUCKUS Network Director to the new version. When the file is uploaded successfully, the RUCKUS Network Director server is restarted and upgraded to the new version.
Complete the following steps to upgrade RUCKUS Network Director.
When upgrading RUCKUS Network Director, you must first upgrade the primary node and then upgrade the secondary node. This avoids the timeout issues for large databases.
- Complete the following steps to
upgrade the primary node.
- On the menu, go to . The Upgrade ND window is displayed.
- In the System Upgrade pane, click Choose
File. The File Upload window is displayed. Navigate to the file location and select the latest file update build package.
- In the System Upgrade pane, click Update. An information dialog box is displayed indicating that the update is successful.
- When the Upgrade dialog box is displayed, check the
latest upgrade details and click Yes. It
is recommended to back up the RND configuration before upgrading to the
new version.
- RUCKUS Network Director will automatically log out after the update is successful.
- Log in to the RUCKUS Network Director.
- On the menu, go to .
- Complete the following steps to upgrade the secondary node.
- On the Dashboard, check that the version number has been updated to the
latest version.
- Complete the following steps to revert RUCKUS Network Director to the previous RUCKUS Network Director release.
