Managing SZ Configuration Backups
Backup of the SZ configurations can be scheduled at a specified frequency and the
configuration backups can be uploaded at a later point in time based on the requirement.
The backup setting allows you to specify the location where you want to store the
configuration backups. Configuration backups can be stored in
RUCKUS Network Director server and SFTP server.
Complete the following steps to define SZ configuration backup settings.
- On the menu, go to Admin >
Backup &
Restore. The Backup & Restore window is displayed.
- In the SZ
Backup Settings pane, complete the following fields to configure
the backup settings:

The RUCKUS Network Director automatically performs the backup at the following intervals:
- Allowed number of backup: Define the maximum number of configuration backup files that can be retained for each cluster. By default, the three latest backup files are retained. If the number of backup files exceeds the defined backup file limit during automatic backup schedule, the oldest file is removed and replaced by the latest file. You can define the backup file limit to a maximum of 21 per SZ cluster.
Note: The configuration backups of each cluster are listed in the Config Backups tab in the individual cluster details window that can be accessed from the Inventory > Clusters tab. For more information about the actions that can be performed on the configuration backup, refer to the details of the Config Backups tab described in Viewing individual cluster details. - Click Apply to save the configuration backup settings.
