RND Supports VMware vSphere vMotion
4.0
supports vSphere vMotion for managing virtual machines on vSphere. You can migrate between
vSphere servers without making the service offline. Before migrating, make sure that the
original vSphere and target vSphere servers are of the same version.
Note: This feature is best supported by VMware vSphere 6.0 and later versions.
When migrating a single node , select one of the following instructions based on your vSphere subnet environment.
- Migrate the single node RND Virtual
Machine with original vSphere server and the target vSphere server on
the same subnet environment. Refer to Migrating RUCKUS Network Director Node from VMware vMotion.
Note: Once the migration is complete, the RND Virtual Machine is hosted on the target vSphere server with the original IP address and serial number.
- Migrate the single node RND Virtual
Machine with original vSphere server and the target vSphere server on
different subnets environment. Refer to Migrating RUCKUS Network Director Node from VMware vMotion.
Note: Once the migration is complete, the RND Virtual Machine is hosted on the target vSphere server with the original serial number and a new IP address.
Complete the following steps to migrate the two nodes RND.
- Remove the RND Virtual Machine secondary node on the original vSphere server.
- Move the primary node through VMware vMotion. Refer to Migrating RUCKUS Network Director Node from VMware vMotion.
