Monitoring Admin Activities

Administration actions executed by the users are logged and can be tracked.

Complete the following steps to monitor the admin activities.

  1. On the menu, go to Admin > Admin Activities.
    The Admin Activities window is displayed.
  2. Activity details with respect to the following parameters can be viewed.

    The Search field allows you to filter the user activity log by matching keyword or phrase.

    Admin Activity Parameters

    Field Description
    Date and Time Activities performed on specific dates and time.
    Administrator The user who has executed the action.
    Source IP IP address of the RUCKUS Network Director.
    Action The management or administration action executed by the user.
    Resource The feature module on which the action is executed.
    Description Summary of the completed action.

    The field Action displays the following action types based on the action executed by the user.

    Note: The columns in the Admin Activities window can be resized to meet your requirements.

    Action Types

    Action Description
    Create Indicates that the user has created a new configuration (such as LDAP setting, AD setting, email setting, AP, and so on).
    Update Indicates that the user has updated the configuration (such as LDAP setting, AD setting, email setting, AP, and so on).
    Reset Indicates that the user performed a reset of the charts or themes.
    Logon Indicates that the RND user is logged in.
    Delete Indicates that the user has deleted the configuration (such as LDAP setting, AD setting, AP, cluster, and so on).
    Bulk Upload Indicates that the user has performed an AP bulk upload.
    Move Indicates that the user performed an AP move; the Description column indicates whether the move was accepted or failed.
    Sync Indicates that the user performed a cluster configuration sync; the Description column indicates success or failure.
    Restore Indicates that the user performed an RND config restore; the Description column indicates success or failure.
