Searching APs and Clients

RUCKUS Network Director provides a comprehensive search tool to locate clients, APs, AP Zones, and so on.

Note: The Search option is applicable only for SZ version 5.0 and above.

Complete the following steps to search for clients and APs:

  1. On the menu, click Search.
    The Search window is displayed. Based on your requirement, you can perform the search locally on the RUCKUS Network Director server or on the SZ.
  2. Select the following search options:
    • SZ Search: Allows you to search for clients and APs on the SZ.
    • ND Search: Allows you to perform the search locally on the RUCKUS Network Director server for the following options:
  3. You can use SZ or ND to search for the results below.
    • AP: Allows user to search for APs by "Device Name" or "Serial" or "MAC Address" or "Model".
    • Cluster: Allows user to search for Clusters by "Cluster Name" or "Cluster IP".
    • Zone: Allows user to search for Zones by "Zone Name".
    • Group: Allows user to search for Groups by "Group Name".
    • Client: Allows user to search Clients by "Client MAC" or "Host Name" or "User Name".
  4. In the Search field, enter the search keywords and click on the required options.
    The matching records for your search criteria are displayed.

    In the AP and client results, you can click the Cluster IP address to access the cluster. The single sign-on capability is enabled to access the SZ. This allows the user to access clusters without having to type in password when launching a connection to a cluster. The user should have the Super Admin privileges to access SZ. In RND 2.0, the single sign-on will work only for SZ 5.0 and above.

    In 2.0 and later releases, single sign-on to SZ is not available for AD and LDAP users.
