Clusters and APs Overview

RUCKUS Network Director provides configuration management functionality to deploy APs in the appropriate SZ cluster and zone.

You can add SZ clusters to RUCKUS Network Director and either import all the APs associated with a cluster or provision them separately. Configuration management of clusters and APs is performed from the Inventory window.

Common Inventory Elements and Actions for Clusters and APs

The following common elements applicable to clusters and APs are available on the Inventory window:

  • Clusters: Displays the breakdown of the clusters based on the status in the network.
  • APs managed by clusters: Displays the breakdown of the APs managed by the clusters based on the status of the APs.
  • Unmanaged APs: Displays the number of unmanaged APs (APs that are provisioned in RUCKUS Network Director but not managed by the SZ controllers).
  • Search: Enter a keyword or phrase to search for matches in clusters or APs.
Note: This search is not case-sensitive. For example, you can search for the MAC address of an AP in uppercase or lowercase.
  • : Refreshes the list of clusters or APs.

The Inventory window has the following tabs for the management of clusters and APs:

Note: The columns in the Clusters and APs tabs can be resized to meet your requirements.
  • Clusters (Tab): Provides options to add and manage clusters.
    • Clusters Tab actions: You can perform the following actions from the Clusters tab.
