RUCKUS Network Director Overview
RUCKUS Network Director (RND) provides configuration management to configure the APs to the SZ cluster, and the APs and controller mappings are fully controllable. RUCKUS Network Director can be provisioned either through the user interface of the RUCKUS Network Director Admin portal or using secure JSON APIs. RUCKUS Network Director monitors the network and syncs the status of the APs with respect to their SZ configurations, and reports any inconsistencies. Additionally, RUCKUS Network Director provides RUCKUS Network Management functionality and consolidates the data and events across the network into a single holistic graphical representation of the entire network.
RUCKUS Network Director helps to improve network operations efficiency through an extensive feature set including:
- A single-pane-of-glass view of all APs and SmartZone clusters, with network health monitoring across multiple SZ clusters that provides both network-wide and node-specific visibility.
- Detailed network inventory, including network nodes and licenses, which helps to plan necessary network extensions and upgrades.
- AP movement individually or in bulk between SZ controllers.
- Customer-driven AP registration rules and the ability to park an AP on a particular SZ cluster automatically, which solves problems of bulk AP roll-outs by non-experienced technicians.
- Cluster backup scheduling management.
