Configuring Registration Rules for Subnet-based Switch Assignment
Complete the following steps to configure subnet-based switch registration rules to
assign switches to SZ.
- On the menu, go to
Inventory >
Switch Reg. Rules.
The Switch Registration Rules window is displayed.
- In the
IP/Subnet tab, click
.
The Add New Registration Rule window is displayed. - Complete the following fields to add registration rule.
- Region: Add a region or select a region from the dropdown list.
- IP Address Type: From the dropdown list, select IPv4 or IPv6.
- IP: Enter the starting IP address.
- Subnet Mask: Enter the subnet mask.
- Cluster: From the dropdown list, select a cluster to which you want to add the switch.
- Switch Group: From the dropdown list, select a switch group.
- Click
Add to add the registration rule.
An information dialog box is displayed indicating that the registration rule is successfully added.
- Click Ok.

Complete the following steps to configure subnet-based switch registration rules to
assign switches to SZ.
Configuring Registration Rules based on Switch Serial Number
Complete the following steps to add switches to a cluster based on the switch serial
number.
- On the menu, go to
Inventory >
Switch Reg. Rules.
The Switch Registartion Rules window is displayed.
- In the
Switch Serial (S/N) tab, click
.
The Add New Switch dialog box is displayed. - Complete the following fields to add a switch.
- Click
Add to add the switch to the specified cluster.
An information dialog box is displayed indicating that the switch is successfully added to the cluster.
- Click
Ok.
Alternatively, you can add switches to the RUCKUS Network Director by importing switches in bulk. Click Bulk Import instead? and upload the csv file to import switches in bulk. For complete instruction on how to import switches by uploading csv file, refer Importing Switches in Bulk.
