From the Console

  1. Log in to the cpn_service account.
  2. Enter the following commands:
    sudo mount -t iso9660 /dev/cdrom /media
    cp /media/VMwareTools-XXXXX.tar.gz .
    sudo umount /media
    tar xvfzp VMwareTools-XXXXX.tar.gz
    cd vmware-tools-distrib
    sudo ./vmware-install.pl
    Note: The VMware Tools version can vary within the same vCenter. Use the Tab button to auto-complete the VMwareTools-XXX.tar.gz commands to be sure you get the correct version.
  3. Select the default answers to the configuration questions.
    When finished, exit the vmware-tools-distrib directory.

When complete, select the Summary tab on the vSphere Client. The General section shows VMware Tools is Running (Current). The IP address should match the IP address assigned to the Cloudpath virtual appliance.
