smtp-server

Enables and configures the SMTP server.
Syntax
smtp-server

After the enable command is entered to enable the SMTP server, the following configuration syntax is available:

{fromemail|hosthost-name|passwordpassword|personalnamedisplay-name|portport|test|tls|toemail|usernameuser-name}
Command Default

No SMTP server configurations are updated.

Parameters
fromemail
Identifies the email address from which the SMS server sends alert messages.
hosthost-name
Sets the SMTP server IP address or domain name.
passwordpassword
Sets a password for the SMTP server.
personalnamedisplay-name
Sets a display name for the SMTP server.
portport
Sets the port number for the SMTP server.
test
Tests the SMTP server settings.
tls
Enables TLS encryption on the SMTP server.
toemail
Identifies the email address to which the SMS server sends alert messages.
usernameuser-name
Sets a logon name for the SMTP server.

Usage Guidelines

The no enable command in SMTP Server configuration mode disables the SMTP server configuration.

Examples

The following example shows how to enter SMTP server configuration mode. 

device# config
device(config)# smtp-server
device(config-smtp-server)# enable
device(config-smtp-server)# host 10.10.1.2
device(config-smtp-server)# tls
device(config-smtp-server)# from admin@commscope.com
device(config-smtp-server)# to user2@commscope.com

The following example shows how to disable the SMTP server. 

device# config
device(config)# smtp-server
device(config-smtp-server)# no enable
