`ip name-server`

Configures one or more Domain Name System (DNS) servers.

Syntax

ip name-server <ip address> <ip address2>

Parameters

ip address: The IP address of the DNS server to be configured. Primary DNS server.

ip address 2: Secondary IP address, in case the primary server is unreachable.

Modes

Global configuration mode

Usage Guidelines

This command is supported on all SmartZone platforms except SmartZone Data Plane controller.

Examples

The following example displays ip name-server configuration.

device(config)# ip name-server
  <ip>     Primary DNS server

device(config)# ip name-server 10.206.84.120
Successful operation

device(config)# ip name-server 10.206.84.120 10.206.84.101
