Enabling PoE Power Management Policy

Complete the following steps to enable dynamic PoE power allocation method. By default, static power management is enabled in the RUCKUS ICX devices.

Note: Dynamic PoE is supported on all RUCKUS ICX devices.

  1. Enter global configuration mode. 
    device# configure terminal
  2. Use the following command to enable dynamic PoE power allocation method.
    device(config)# inline power allocation dynamic all

The following example enables dynamic PoE power allocation method on all or specific stack units of a switch.

device# configure terminal
device(config)# inline power allocation dynamic all
device(config)# inline power allocation dynamic 1
device(config)# inline power allocation dynamic 2,3,6
device(config)# inline power allocation dynamic 8-12

The following example disables dynamic PoE power allocation method on all or specific stack units of a switch.

device# configure terminal
device(config)# no inline power allocation dynamic all
device(config)# no inline power allocation dynamic 1
device(config)# no inline power allocation dynamic 2,3,6
device(config)# no inline power allocation dynamic 8-12
