Configuring PPPoE Intermediate Agent on a Server Interface

Configures the Point-to-Point Protocol over Ethernet Intermediate Agent (PPPoE IA) on a server interface.
Do this procedure to enable and configure the PPPoE Intermediate Agent on the specified PPPoE server interface.
  1. Enter global configuration mode.
    device# configure terminal
  2. Specify the interface.
    device(config)#interface ethernet 1/1/11
  3. Enable the intermediate agent on the interface.
    device(config-if-e1000-1/1/11)#pppoe intermediate-agent
  4. Specify the port to be trusted.
    device(config-if-e1000-1/1/11)#pppoe intermediate-agent trust
  5. Strip the vendor tag in the PPPoE Active Discovery (PAD) message packets from the server.
    device(config-if-e1000-1/1/11)#pppoe intermediate-agent vendor-tag strip

The following example enables and configures the PPPoE Interface Agent on the specified PPPoE server interface.

device(config)#interface ethernet 1/1/11
device(config-if-e1000-1/1/11)#pppoe intermediate-agent
device(config-if-e1000-1/1/11)#pppoe intermediate-agent trust
device(config-if-e1000-1/1/11)#pppoe intermediate-agent vendor-tag strip
