- Service Catalog
The Service Catalog is a collection of
configurable network services that help manage connectivity, authentication, security,
and
traffic control in
RUCKUS One. Each service can be added and
configured to define how your network authenticates users, authorizes access, monitors
performance, and secures communication.
- Creating an Access Control Policy
You can use the Access Control policy to
create multiple wireless networks with different access control components.
- Understanding Port Security
Both the MAC access control list (ACL)
policy and port MAC security features are used to enhance network security at the
switch
level.
- Creating an Adaptive Policy
You can use an Adaptive Policy with RADIUS
or DPSK to authenticate clients. Only clients that meet all the conditions specified
in the
adaptive policy are granted access. To enable this feature, activate the Adaptive
Policy
option within the DPSK service settings. Adaptive policy supports certificate templates.
Refer to
Adding a DPSK Network for
information on how to add a DPSK network.
- AV Profile
The AV Profile feature simplifies how
Audio/Visual (AV) settings are applied to switch ports by using predefined or custom
templates.
This ensures consistent and optimized AV behavior across supported ICX8200 switches.
- Certificate Management
RUCKUS One provides certificate
management functions that help enhance security, simplify certificate administration,
and
ensure compliance with industry standards.
- Creating a Client Isolation
Profile
You can use a Client Isolation profile to
create multiple wireless networks to connect a client to the network.
- Adding and Managing a DHCP Service Profile for
Wi-Fi
You can add a DHCP service profile and
add the profile to a venue.
- Adding and Managing a Directory Server
Profile
You can add a Directory Server profile to
provide a user authentication mechanism that can be associated with one or more captive
portal networks that utilize an Active Directory or Lightweight Directory Access Protocol
(LDAP) Server.
- Adding a DPSK Service
Adding a DPSK service strengthens
Wi-Fi security by giving each user a unique passphrase, simplifies access control,
supports
scalability, and enables better tracking while ensuring smooth onboarding and centralized
management.
- Identity Provider Overview
An Identity Provider provides network
services and operates the AAA infrastructure required to authenticate subscribers.
- SoftGRE Tunneling Support
Software Generic Routing Encapsulation
(SoftGRE) tunneling involves transmitting encapsulated data packets in WLAN deployments
to
manage and direct AP traffic to a centralized gateway.
- Location Based Service Server Overview
Location-Based Service (LBS) utilize the
geographical location of a device to provide personalized and context-aware
services.
- Adding MAC Registration Lists
You can add MAC registration lists to
authenticate the devices based on MAC address. You can configure the expiration for
the
entries as: Never expire, By date, and
After, and also configure to automatically clean the expired
entries.
- Adding mDNS Proxy Service
From the RUCKUS One web interface, you can
add the mDNS Proxy service.
- Understanding the Authentication
Profile
The Authentication Profile enhances
network security as it controls client access to resources by working with VLAN and
AAA
servers on switches. This is called Flexible Authentication.
- Ethernet Port Profiles
An Ethernet port profile is used to define
and manage the configuration settings for Ethernet ports on networking devices. These
profiles allow for consistent configuration across multiple ports, ensuring uniform
settings
for network performance, security, and VLAN assignments.
- ICX Port Profiles
An ICX port profile is used to dynamically
configure a port using predefined port settings depending on the end device connected
to the
port.
- Adding a Guest Portal Service
You can add guest portal to provide
Wi-Fi services.
- Property Management System
The Property Management System (PMS)
integration connects
RUCKUS
One with a third-party PMS. It lets you import property units (such as apartment units,
hotel guest rooms, and conference rooms) into
RUCKUS One and automatically manage guest
network access during a stay, based on activity in the external PMS.
- Adding and Managing a RADIUS
Server
You can use a RADIUS Server profile to
define a remote Authentication, Authorization, and Accounting (AAA) server for use
by one or
more networks that utilize an external RADIUS server (such as Enterprise AAA (802.1X)
networks).
- Creating a Resident Portal
You can create a RUCKUS supported resident
portal that enables an administrator to manage Wi-Fi passwords for users and guests.
You can
connect this portal to the Venue by enabling RUCKUS Portal in the Property
Management.
- Creating a Rogue AP Detection
Policy
You can use a Rogue AP Detection
policy to define classification rules that determine how detected access points are
evaluated and labeled across selected venues. When applied, the policy controls rogue
AP
detection behavior at the venue level by activating a single classification profile
per
venue.
- Software Defined Local Area Network
Software Defined Local Area Network
(SD-LAN) is a service provided on RUCKUS One that is implemented on RUCKUS Edge
devices.
- Creating an SNMP Agent Profile
RUCKUS One provides
support for Simple Network Management Protocol (SNMPv2 and SNMPv3), which allows you
to
query information (such as system status, AP list) and to configure system settings
using a
Network Management System (NMS) or an SNMP MIB browser. You can also enable SNMP traps
to
receive immediate notifications for possible AP and system issues. SNMPv3 provides
enhanced
security features, including authentication and encryption, ensuring that the data
being
transmitted is secure and only accessible to authorized users.
- Creating a Syslog Server Policy
You can add a Syslog Server profile at
multiple venues.
- Creating a Tunnel Profile
A tunnel profile is essential for managing
and optimizing the behavior of tunnels between Access Points (APs) and the
RUCKUS Edge device.
Each Tunnel Profile is linked to a single cluster, and each cluster is confined to
a
specific venue.
- User Roles for Wireless Clients
User Roles, defined and mapped within a
RADIUS Server profile, control wireless client (end user) access to Wi-Fi networks
that are
configured to use that external RADIUS server for authentication. Each role is associated
with
an Access Control Policy that is applied when the user connects.
- Creating a VLAN Pool
You can add a VLAN Pool profile at
multiple venues.
- Webhooks
Webhooks send notifications to an external
endpoint when selected incidents, activities, or events occur. Webhook Templates allow
MSPs to
create reusable webhook configurations that can be applied across customer accounts.
- Wi‑Fi Calling
Wi‑Fi Calling enables mobile voice
calls and text messaging over Wi‑Fi networks while preserving the mobile phone number
and
prioritizing carrier voice traffic to maintain call quality across wireless
networks.
- Wi-Fi Operator Overview
A Wi-Fi operator deploys and operates an
access network of publicly accessible or guest access Passpoint APs.
- Workflow Management
The
RUCKUS One
Enrollment System allows you to create a customized onboarding workflow that provides
a
portal interface for clients to use for network access.
