Monitoring ICX Fabric Information

The controller provides access to view switch-level VXLAN fabric information, including VXLAN VNI mapping, BGP neighbors, BGP EVPN attribute entries, and MAC address tables.

To view the various aspects of VXLAN fabric information for a specific switch, perform the following steps.

Note: When SmartZone is configured in 'IPv6 only' mode, it removes support for Fabric information.

  1. From the main menu, navigate to Network > Wired > Switches.
    The Switches window is displayed.
  2. Select a switch for which you want to view the fabric information.
  3. Click the Fabric tab.
  4. Click the VxLAN VNI Mapping sub-tab to view the details of VXLAN-enabled network such as the VNI, Status, VLAN, Tunnel IP, Route Target Export, Route Target Import, Route Distinguisher, and ARP Suppression Enable.

  5. (Optional) Click the icon. In the Apply Filters dialog box, enter either a specific VNI identifier or one or more VLANs to filter the VxLAN VNI Mapping data. Click Reset Filters to clear the active filter data.

  6. Click the BGP Neighbors sub-tab to view routing information such Local-As, Total Nbrs, Total Established Nbrs, Total Imet Routes, Total MAC Routes, Neighbor IP Address, Remote-As, Connection State, Up Time, Imet Routes, and MAC Routes.

  7. Click the BGP EVPN Attribute Entries sub-tab to view Layer 2 and Layer 3 VPN services over an IP/MPLS network. In the BGP EVPN Attribute Entries section, enter the values for the following attributes and click Search.
    1. Neighbor IP Address: Select the Neighbor IP Address from the list.
    2. MAC or IMET: (Optional) Select the MAC or Inclusive Multicast Ethernet Tag (IMET) route address from the drop-down list.

    3. VNI: Enter the Virtual Network Identifier (VNI) of the VxLAN.
    4. Device MAC Address: Enter the MAC address of the device.
      Note: If you select IMET, the Device MAC Address field is disabled.
  8. Click the MAC Address Tables sub-tab to view the MAC address table for a specific device. Enter the device MAC address and click Search. Displayed are the total number of active entries from all the switch ports, as well as the Ethernet port number, port type (Static or Dynamic), and assigned VLAN.
