External Syslog Server

Create external syslog server profiles to use by APs in different Zones or Partner Domains. The APs send a copy of their events to the servers you apply in the Zone.

Apply these profiles to the required zones on the Create Zone or Edit Zone pages. Optionally, override those settings in the individual AP level

Complete the following steps to create syslog server profiles that you can later apply to the Zones. :

  1. Services > Others > AP External Syslog Server.

    The AP External Syslog Server Profile page opens.

  2. Select a Partner Domain where you want to create the profile or create it for the System Domain so you can apply it to any zone in the System Domain.
  3. Click Create.

    The Create AP External Syslog Server Profile page opens.

  4. Enter the Primary Server Address, Port, and Protocol. Optionally, enter the information for a secondary server.
  5. In Send Logs section, select the type of logs you want the AP to send the the syslog server:
    • General Logs: Sends logs related to the operation for the AP.
    • Client Flow: Sends logs related to the client flow.
    • All logs: Sends logs related to both the AP operation and the client flow.
  6. Click OK to save the profile.
