Moving Untagged Port Membership from One Non-Default VLAN to Another

You can move untagged ports from one VLAN to another, using the wrapper command vlan-config move untagged. This command can be used to modify untagged VLAN membership of a port.

Note: This wrapper command performs several command calls internally. If any internal command fails to execute, a corresponding message will be displayed.
  1. Access the global configuration mode by entering the following commands.
    device# enable
No password has been assigned yet...
    device# configure terminal
    device(config)#
  2. Access the level of the CLI for configuring port-based VLAN and add an untagged port, by entering the following commands.
    device(config)# vlan 20 by port
    device(config-vlan-20)# untagged ethernet 1/1/2
    Added untagged port(s) ethe 1/1/2 to port-vlan 20.
    device(config-vlan-20)# interface ethernet 1/1/2
    device(config-if-e1000-1/1/2)#

  3. Enter the following command to remove the untagged port and add it to another VLAN.
    device(config-if-e1000-1/1/2)# vlan-config move untagged 100
  4. Enter the following commands to exit the VLAN configuration mode and save the configuration to the system-config file in flash memory.
    device(config-if-e1000-1/1/2)# end
    device# write memory

If the new VLAN is not yet configured, the command will create it and the port will be added to it.

Note: The vlan-config move untagged is a non-savable command. It can be applicable to multiple interfaces. This port should belong to a non-default VLAN before moving to another non-default VLAN. The command does not work if the port is a member of only the default VLAN.
