Activating and Editing the Controller Data Stream Plugin

Activate this plugin to receive streaming data from generic ZigBee devices. When enabled, device telemetry data is securely routed to the specified MQTT endpoints.

To establish a connection to a partner infrastructure, the administrator must perform the following steps.

  1. From the main menu, select Admin.
  2. Click Plugins.
    The Plugins page is displayed. You can search for a plugin by its name in the Search plugins field to locate it.
  3. Click the Available Plugins tab.
    You will see tiles with plugin names on them. Locate the Controller Data Stream tile.

  4. In the Controller Data Stream tile, click + Configure to activate the plugin.
    The Controller Data Stream Configuration sidebar is displayed.
  5. Select either the External or Internal option.

  6. If the External option is selected, configure the following parameters.
    1. MQTT Broker IP: Enter the IP address of your MQTT broker.
    2. MQTT Broker Port: Enter the network port to which you want to connect.
    3. MQTT Publish Topic: Enter the topic name as a simple string that is hierarchically structured with forward slashes (/) as delimiters. An MQTT client can publish messages as soon as it connects to a broker.
    4. Periodic Update Interval: Enter the interval to receive MQTT publications.
    5. Device Reporting: Enable Device Reporting and specify the topic where messages will be published, ensuring they are forwarded exactly as received from the device.
    6. Validate Server Certificate: Enable to secure the connection with SSL.
    If the Internal option is selected, configure the following parameters.

    1. MQTT Publish Topic: Enter the topic name as a simple string that is hierarchically structured with forward slashes (/) as delimiters. An MQTT client can publish messages as soon as it connects to a broker.
    2. Periodic Update Interval: Enter the interval to receive MQTT Publish.
    3. Device Reporting: Enable Device Reporting and specify the topic where messages will be published, ensuring the controller forwards them exactly as received from the device.
    4. Download CDS Certificate: Click to download the certificate.
      Note: The CDS certificate is the security certificate used for secure data streaming between the controller and the MQTT broker.
  7. Click Activate to save the changes.
    After saving the changes, the Controller Data Stream plugin is added to the Active Plugins tab and is removed from the Available Plugins tab. Under the Active Plugins tab, locate the Controller Data Stream tile. To modify the configurations, click Configure. To delete the plugin, click Delete.
  8. (Optional) Click Configure to edit the existing configuration.
    The Controller Data Stream sidebar is displayed. You can view the connection status of the plugin in the Status field. Make the required changes and click Update.
  9. (Optional) Click Delete to delete the plugin.
