Adding an IoT AP

The administrator can add an IoT AP to the RUCKUS IoT Controller to manage IoT devices.

Complete the following steps to add an IoT AP to the controller.

  1. From the main menu, click APs.
    The APs page is displayed.
  2. Click Pre-Approve APs.
    The Pre-Approve APs page is displayed with two options: Single AP or Batch Upload.
  3. To add a single IoT AP, click Single AP.

    Adding a Single IoT AP

    Configure the following.

    1. In the MAC Address field, enter the MAC address of the IoT AP.
    2. In the Tags field, enter a new tag name.
    3. Click Pre-Approve AP to add the IoT AP.
    4. Click Cancel to stop the addition and exit the page.
  4. To add multiple IoT APs, click Batch Upload and perform the following actions:

    1. Click Download Template to download the provided CSV file.
    2. Fill in the required details in the downloaded CSV file. Ensure all mandatory fields are completed correctly and the file is saved on your device.
    3. Upload the completed CSV file using one of the following methods:
      • Click the Upload CSV File box and select your file.
      • Drag and drop the CSV file directly into the upload area.
    4. Click Process Batch Upload to process the CSV file. Otherwise, click Cancel to stop the addition and exit the page.
