Disabling Syslog for MAC Address Moves

You can disable syslog messages for Media Access Control (MAC) moves on a network device to reduce unnecessary log entries and simplify log management. Disabling syslog for MAC address moves is useful in scenarios where monitoring rapid MAC movements is not critical, allowing you to focus on more relevant syslog entries and improve overall system performance.
The following task disables the generation of syslog messages when a MAC address move is detected. This helps you maintain a cleaner and more efficient logging system.

For more information on the syslog message that is displayed when a MAC address move is detected, refer to the Syslog Messages section of the RUCKUS FastIron Monitoring Configuration Guide.

  1. Enter global configuration mode.
    device# configure terminal
  2. Disable the generation of syslog messages when a MAC move is detected.
    device(config)# mac-move-syslog-disable
