Configuring the Controller Address for the DHCPv6 Server
You can configure the controller address
to be used by the DHCPv6 server (option 52). Option 52 enhances SmartZone (SZ) controller
management and connectivity in the network. The following task example configures
the IPv6
controller address in DHCPv6 configuration mode and at the subnet level (subnet
configuration mode).
- Enter global configuration mode.
- Enable the DHCPv6 server.
- Specify a domain name server (DNS) domain name.
- Specify the controller address to be used by the DHCPv6 server.
- Create a DHCPv6 server address pool.
- Configure a subnet for the DHCPv6
server. The device enters DHCPv6 subnet configuration mode.
- Assign IPv6 addresses in the specified range.
- Specify the controller address to be used for the subnet.
The following example configures the
IPv6 controller address in DHCPv6 configuration mode and at the subnet level (DHCPv6
subnet
configuration
mode).
device# configure terminal device(config)# ipv6 dhcp6-server enable device(config-dhcp6)# domain-name company.com device(config-dhcp6)# controller-address 2040::10 2040::11 2040::12 2040::13 device(config-dhcp6)# pool dhcp6_pool device(config-dhcp6)# subnet6 2001::/64 device(config-dhcpv6-subnet)# range6 2001::1 2001::200 device(config-dhcpv6-subnet)# controller-address 2060::10 2060::11 2060::12 2060::13
