Disabling NTP

Enter the disable command in NTP Configuration mode to disable NTP client and server modes. Disabling the NTP server or client mode does not remove the configuration.

When NTP is disabled, the default RUCKUS NTP server (ntp.ruckuswireless.com) is configured internally but does not appear in the running configuration. If the default server has been explicitly removed using the no server ntp.ruckuswireless.com command, it is not re-added when NTP is disabled or after a device reload.

The following example disables the NTP server.

device# configure terminal
device(config)# ntp
device(config-ntp)# disable

To enable the client mode, use the no disable command. To enable the client and server mode, use the no disable serve command.

Note: The no disable command enables both the client and the server if the client was already enabled and the server was already disabled at that time the no disable server command was entered.
