- Configuring Device Redundancy Using
VSRPVirtual Switch Redundancy Protocol (VSRP) provides device redundancy in a port-based VLAN. Configuring VSRP device redundancy in your network leads to faster failover times if an interface goes offline.
- Configuring Optional VSRP Parameters
- Configuring Authentication on VSRP
InterfacesIf the interfaces on which you configure the VRID use authentication, the VSRP packets on those interfaces must also use the same authentication.
- Tracking Ports and Setting the VSRP
PriorityConfiguring port tracking on an exit path interface and setting a priority on a VSRP device enables VSRP to monitor the interface. If the interface goes down, the VRID’s VSRP priority is reduced by the amount of the track port priority you specify.
