| Sub-second stack failover | The traffic interruption time is improved to sub-second if the active controller fails and the traffic must be rerouted. The traffic that does not pass through the failed active controller is hitless. When a stacking ring transitions to a linear stack, however, the traffic interruption remains in the 1-3 second range for traffic that needs to be rerouted. | Refer to Hitless Stacking for more information on hitless failover. |
