Remote Access For Managing Devices

RUCKUS ICX device management functions can be managed remotely using a variety of methods.

You can allow and restrict access to management functions from remote sources, including Telnet, the Web Management Interface, SSH, and SNMP. The following remote access methods are supported:

  • Using ACLs to allow or restrict Telnet, Web Management Interface, or SNMP access
  • Allowing remote access only from specific IP addresses
  • Allowing Telnet and SSH access only from specific MAC addresses
  • Allowing remote access only to clients connected to a specific VLAN
  • Specifically disabling Telnet, Web Management Interface, or SNMP access to the device

  1. Remote Access Configuration Using Telnet
    Remote access to RUCKUS devices using Telnet does not, by default, require a user name or password. For security reasons setting a Telnet password to secure Telnet access is recommended. Further configuration options for Telnet users are available.
