Enabling and Disabling Web Authentication

Web Authentication is disabled by default. To enable it, enter the following commands.

device(config)# vlan 10
device(config-vlan-10# webauth
device(config(config-vlan-10-webauth)# enable

The vlan command changes the CLI level to the VLAN configuration level. The webauth command changes the configuration level to the Web Authentication VLAN level. The enable command enables Web Authentication. In the example, VLAN 10 requires hosts to be authenticated using Web Authentication before they can forward traffic.

FastIron devices support a maximum of two Web Authentication VLANs.

Enter the no enable command to disable Web Authentication.

Note: On ICX 7150-C08PT devices running a FastIron 08.0.92 image, HTTP and HTTPS default ports (Ports 80 and 443) are disabled by default and must be enabled before web authentication is enabled. To check whether these ports are enabled, use the show ip http status command. Enable the ports using the web-management http and web-management https commands as shown in Web Authentication Configuration Tasks.

Although ICX 7150-C08PT devices support HTTP and HTTPS for services such as web authentication, the devices do not support any other web-management functions. If you attempt to manage ICX 7150-C08PT devices through a web session, the following error message is displayed: "Web-management support is not available for this device."
