Importing routes into BGP4+
Routes can be explicitly specified for advertisement by BGP.
- Enter the
configure terminalcommand to access global configuration mode. - Enter the
router bgpcommand to enable BGP routing. - Enter the
neighbor remote-ascommand, specifying an IPv6 address, to specify the ASN in which the remote neighbor resides. - Enter the
address-family ipv6 unicastcommand to enter IPv6 address family configuration mode. - Enter the
networkcommand and specify a network/mask to import the specified prefix into the BGP4+ database.
The following example imports the 2001:db8::/32 prefix in to the BGP4+ database for advertising.
device# configure terminal device(config)# router bgp device(config-bgp-router)# neighbor fe80:4398:ab30:45de::1 remote-as 1001 device(config-bgp-router)# address-family ipv6 unicast device(config-bgp-ipv6u)# network 2001:db8::/32
